Tough Stuff™ is the name of our T-Group adapted for organizations and is the foundation for all our academic programs. At the heart of Tough Stuff™ is the Skill Group (T-Group) which was invented in 1946 by Kurt Lewin along with colleagues Leland Bradford, Ron Lippett, and Ken Benne at a workshop in Connecticut.
The Skill Group (T-Group) is created for leaders in organizations and change agents internal or external to organizations. Tough Stuff™ expands one’s skills in positively impacting any group through greater self-awareness, authenticity, systems thinking related to work, a core set of interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of group process and group dynamics. Come participate in our unique T-Group that has been applied with thousands in manufacturing, software, non-profits, etc.
How this is different from your typical group-process learning experience?
This practice group deepens skills through doing them in an experiential process that includes extensive feedback from peers and faculty. Each session will include some theory, normally coupled with skill practice, and followed by a unique industry adapted T-Group.
The skills explored in this group are beyond just how to lead and or facilitate a group. They are also the skills in how to be authentic to both self and community in real time, as a participant in any group (i.e. across sectors, industries, etc), regardless of official role.
This is a hands-on learning experience designed to help you grow your skills as an authentic and creative presence in any group regardless of your role. This group is about stretching group-process skills in all aspects of group dynamics, including tension, conflict, etc.
Why join us for this unique and special learning opportunity?
Our current professional and cultural dynamics require high competence with group-process. Many organizations lack healthy group dynamics - especially when conflict and seemingly divergent viewpoints arise. This group is about taking skills beyond “techniques” and into the terrain of self-awareness in terms of how to manage difficult interactions and organizational challenges.
Logistics:
Tough Stuff is from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm PST, ending Friday at noon.
