LIOS is pleased to announce the addition of Chelley Patterson, MS PhD to its Board of Directors. We value Chelley’s unique blend of academically grounded insight and lived corporate experience. Chelley holds a BBA from Ohio University, and MS and PhD degrees in Organizational Behavior from Georgia State’s Mack Robinson School of Business. She received her change management consultant certification in 1995 from Darryl Conner, author of Managing at the Speed of Change and holds several other professional certifications and credentials. For 30 years, she’s learned what works in the real world as a practitioner in leadership, team, culture, and organizational development.
Chelley leverages and continues to expand her cumulative knowledge & experience through her work with clients across industries ranging from airlines, architecture, commercial construction & general contracting, energy,fintech, healthcare, higher education, real estate & facilities, and technology.
Since 2017, Chelley has been the owner of Soft Logic Llc, a collaborative independent consulting firm based in Seattle -- working with clients to develop authentic and transformational leadership, breakthrough strategies, clear and aligned culture, and remarkable team delivery. She’s an astute change management partner, trusted leadership coach and advisor, innovative program designer, and engaging facilitator.
From 2009-2017, she was the Director of Research & Program Development for the Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking (CLST) -- a self-funded consulting, coaching, and ideation center in UW’s Foster School of Business. Her role included Leadership Coach, Coach Supervisor, and Principal Consultant for clients included the New England VA, Catholic Health Initiatives, UW Facilities Services and others. There Chelley worked alongside CLST’s Executive Director and world-renown leadership scholar, Dr. Bruce Avolio.
Chelley stayed connected with UW by teaching the People Management, Leadership, & Teams portion of the Graduate Business Certificate program (2015-2021), and serving as guest lecturer in the Change Management certificate program (2020-2023).
Her prior corporate experience includes internal consulting and talent development for NASCO, Vanstar, and NCR’s Human Interface Technology Center in Atlanta and Knowledge Lab in London. She was a member of Teresa Amabile’s collaborative research team for 3+ years – designing and conducting the Harvard Business School studies on teamwork reported in The Progress Principle (Amabile & Kramer, 2011).
