Group process is how any group carries out its life cycle from its initial forming to its productivity stage. Group dynamics are the interactions between people in the group. Most group members have no consciousness about the latter because they focus on the topic on hand rather than the dynamics that are underneath the topic. It is a learned capacity to see these “here and now” dynamics and intervene to ensure the group becomes more effective.
The methods taught at LIOS raise one’s consciousness about one’s self, the whole group, and the interactions of its members. Beyond awareness, LIOS builds the skills needed to know when and what to say or do to be an active participant in increasing any group’s effectiveness.
