Student Handbook
The contents of the LIOS Student Handbook and Course Catalog have been compiled and organized to provide a broad overview of the policies, programs, and course information of Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS). The catalog is to be used as a supplement to the Bastyr University Catalog and Catalog Addendum.
Library
The library's current collection, as of October 2008, includes about 3500 books, 120 videotapes, 170 audiotapes, 270 journal articles, 90 booklets, 13 journal subscriptions, about 670 cataloged masters' theses, early LIOS curriculum materials (including "Survival Manuals"), Jossey-Bass Training and Consulting Annuals, a special collection of back issues of the Journal of the Association for Creative Change, and a collection of major theorists' bibliographies. The library also has the Study Guide for the Marriage and Family Therapy National Licensing Examination and supplementary materials for those preparing to take their licensure exams. Services provided include:
- Lending library, which includes required and recommended readings, copies of journal articles, videotapes, and audiotapes
- Bibliographies of theorists
- Master’s Thesis Projects from 1995 to the present
- Faculty publications
- Style guides (Chicago Manual of Style and the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association)
- Periodicals: hard copies of current journal issuses and many back issues
- Research and reference services
- Mailing of information to students
- Help with locating materials in other libraries
Career Resource Center
The Pino-Emory Library also houses the Career Resource Center, where you can access employment information and internship listings, as well as career development and resume-writing resources.
Alumni Services
After you graduate, you are invited and strongly encouraged to remain a member of the LIOS community. We consider everyone who has studied at LIOS—in the Master of Arts degree program, leadership certificate programs, or continuing education workshops, seminars and classes—to be an alumnus/a of Leadership Institute of Seattle.
