- Materials Fee: Estimated $270 per year, distributed evenly over three academic quarters. The materials fee covers all student manuals, instruments, and other handouts distributed to students throughout the year. The fee does not cover the cost of textbooks, and is revised annually. Students are charged for the replacement of any materials that are lost or damaged in a way that makes them unusable. Students are also charged additional fees for materials that are required to get the student current if he or she chooses to transfer between tracks.
- Technology Fee: Estimated $150 per year, distributed evenly over three academic quarters. This fee allows LIOS to maintain and develop the technical resources needed to facilitate the learning process.
The obligation to pay tuition and fees is a contract between the student and the LIOS/Bastyr University School of Applied Behavioral Science. Such fees, regardless of the source, are payable according to the guidelines below.
Payments for tuition are due by the first day of the first module of each quarter. Checks or money orders should be made payable to LIOS/Bastyr University and are to be sent to 14506 Juanita Drive NE, Kenmore, WA 98028. Tuition is payable by VISA or MasterCard.
If you are pursuing financial aid, you must apply on specific forms. Contact the Bastyr Financial Aid Office at 425.602.3082 for more information. If you are approved for finanical aid but your completed paperwork has not been submitted within the appropriate timeframe, your payment will be considered late. If you receive financial aid, then credit card payments are only accepted after the financial aid has been applied to your account.
If you are unable to pay in full, all tuition on the first day of the first module of each quarter, you will be required to sign a Promissory Note (see example). In addition you will be charged a $25 deferment fee and 1.25% interest will be charged per month on all unpaid tuition, room and board and materials fees made after payment deadline dates. All payments must be made in U.S. Dollars; foreign currency will not be accepted. A charge of $35.00 will be assessed for any check declined by the bank. If the returned check was the means of meeting a payment or registration deadline, the deadline will not be considered met and the appropriate penalties will be applied. It is our practice to redeposit all returned checks one time, automatically, and without notice. A charge of $40.00 will be assessed when students request that LIOS stop payment on a check. LIOS reserves the right to submit your account/unpaid balance to a collection agency of our choice, which makes you responsible for all fees, collection costs, and inital unpaid balance, prinicipal, interest and/or resianable attorney fees.
Those who do not meet their financial commitments should be aware of three consequences:
- A student may not be registered for the next academic quarter until all current debts are paid in full.
